Signs it may be time to talk to someone

Every child develops at their own pace. Still, if you notice several of these, an evaluation can bring clarity and earlier support.

Only a qualified clinician can diagnose autism. If your child does not have a diagnosis yet, we can help you find an evaluation in Houston.

FAQ

Questions families ask us

See all questions

What is ABA therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy that uses positive reinforcement to teach meaningful skills — communication, social, play, self-care — and to reduce behaviors that interfere with learning and safety. Sessions are play-based and tailored to each child.

Does my child need an autism diagnosis to start?

ABA therapy usually starts after an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis. Speech and occupational therapy usually do not require one. If your child has no diagnosis yet, we can help you find an evaluation.

Where do sessions take place?

Wherever your child learns best: at home, at school or in the community. Many families combine settings.

How many hours of therapy will my child need?

It depends on your child’s needs and goals. After the assessment, your BCBA recommends a number of weekly hours, and we adjust it as your child progresses.
